Collingswood has a thriving art, culture and restaurant scene that draws people from all over South Jersey and Philadelphia.

Restaurants span a variety of cuisines including American, Italian, Indian, French, Chinese, Mexican, Brazilian, Japanese, Ecuadorian, and Thai, including James Beard winners and the new Hearthside restaurant across the street.

The American Planning Association designated Collingswood’s Haddon Avenue one of 10 Great Streets “for the way it melds the past with the present”.

The Perkins Center for the Arts has a unique building less than a block away. The Factory maker space is down the block.

The annual Collingswood Book Festival hosts various authors including Camille Paglia and Matthew Quick, whose novel The Silver Linings Playbook took place in the borough. Collingswood has a large LGBTQ community and The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote about the borough’s “fast growing gay and lesbian community.” Festivals such as May Day bring over 50,000 people to town.
